Minimoto Racing
Minimoto Racing has existed in the UK since the early 90's, its a great starting block for young riders to cut there teeth into the world of motorcycle racing, adults also enjoy the thrills, as these bikes are not toys, supers are making around 15hp ona bike that weighs around 23kg awesome power to weight ratio, for the best racing in the UK there is only 1 championship run by Phoenix racing, the SEMRC/LCRRC Championships, If you want a great atmosphere with great close racing, minimoto has it all, with classes for all age groups and different classes of power , 4.2 minimoto producing around 5-6hp then you move upto production class which are water cooled producing around 9-11hp, then supers and super nationals hitting around 15hp!

MINI MOTO / POCKET BIKE
JUNIOR CLASS
Mini or Midi size machines conforming to general classification.
Polini Ser 1, “4.2hp type”, air-cooled
engine only [industrial engines acceptable for Novice class],
standardcomponents only, including crank-shaft. Casting “flashes” may
be removed but no porting, polishing or machining allowed. Crank case
halves may be machined to produce a crank to crank-case clearance of
0.55mm Max on each side, when measured with a feeler gauge. Cylinder
heads [but not combustion chamber] may be machined to achieve a squish
measurement no lower than 0.5mm. Standard reed valve assembly only.
Standard 72cc 4 stroke machines also permitted, no modifications of any
type, including carb/ignition/exhaust, must be standard Chinese
cylinder/cylinder head.
14mm sha carb only, rubber or alloy inlet manifold allowed.
Ignition must be standard, no modifications permitted.
Exhaust for Polini engine must be F.M.I
homologated, pressed steel expansion chamber/tube front pipeonly, with
a constant diameter front pipe, min length 280mm, O.D. Min 24mm - max
25mm, tube wall thickness min 1.1mm.
PHOENIX ACADEMY CUP
Standard Blata Elite 4.2hp,engine &
chassis must be totally standard, no matching/porting/polishing, all
standard parts, inc crank-shaft only. Standard
exhaust only, standard reed/reed block/inlet, 14/14sha carb only,
standard or Conti air filter only, standard weight clutch back-plate
only, NO alloy, treaded Duro tyres only, 66T rear sprocket only, 6 or
7T front sprocket only, any main jet.
SENIOR AIR-COOLED
Polini Series 1 or Blata “4.2hp” derived 2
stroke engines only, using standard 3tr cylinder/cyl head, standard
ignition, 14mm sha carb, no porting, machining, polishing permitted,
max capacity of 40cc. Chinese industrial derived engines permitted a
maximum capacity of 49cc, single cylinder only. 72cc 4 stroke also
allowed, Chinese cylinder/cylinder head only, standard carb only, any
camshaft, any exhaust system conforming to noise reg’s.
PRODUCTION CLASSES
Chinese “replica” Blata Origami permitted
[standard engine/carb], Racetech Production class machine with STANDARD
3tr AMG engine. The following are permitted but must be standard, using
standard O/E components, 3 transfer cylinders, max capacity of 40cc, no
porting, machining or polishing, Polini GP3, BZM engine, ZPF engine,
Polini series 2 engine permitted the following modifications, “race”
[full circle] crank-shaft [39.2mm stroke only in all cases], Series 2
[only] cyl head may be machined [not combustion chamber] min squish
0.5mm, crank case halves may be machined to produce min crank to crank
case clearance of 0.55mm each side when measured with a feeler gauge,
otherwise, standard finish/components only [GP3 3 transfer cylinder kit
or BZM 3tr cyl kit permitted], no other porting/machining/mod’s
permitted. 4 stroke, maximum capacity of 89cc, must be standard,
factory finish, and conforming to manufacturer specifications,
including carb, exhaust and ignition.
Carb
in case of all 2 stroke engines is 14mm sha, any reed-block [standard
finish], any inlet [standard finish]
DUAL STAGE REEDS NOT PERMITTED.
Ignition in all cases to be standard. [both types of Polini ignition permitted to series 2 engine].
Exhaust - Any [2 stroke] commercially available system.
SUPERS CLASSES
Any 2 stroke “mini moto” single cylinder engine, max capacity of 50cc.
Any 4 stroke “mini moto” single cylinder engine, max capacity of 100cc.
